In Malaysia, we’ve been practising the no-smoking etiquette in eateries for more than a decade. Yet, there are still people who continue to ignore it. Nowadays, eateries are becoming increasingly creative in how they remind their customers, often using signage as a gentle reminder.

In a recent video that’s been circulating online, a local man known as @mrlabi_ took to his TikTok to share an amusing experience during his visit to an eatery.

You will get shot if you smoke at the premise

In the video, the man is capturing on camera a distinctive sign prominently displayed at the eatery, which humorously warns individuals against smoking on the premises.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Sharul mentioned that he was dining at an eatery in Sri Sentosa, Petaling Jaya. He described how upon his arrival, he was greeted by a sign that humorously reads,

“Smokers will be shot if caught smoking. If the individual is still alive, he or she will be shot again.”

They even had a sign for tissue!

If the smoking sign wasn’t enough, Sharul went on to reveal that the eatery even had a specific sign for those who litter or waste tissues during their visit.

“The eatery had 2 rare and amusing signs displayed: 1. for smoking and another for wasting or littering tissues. I wish I had taken a picture of the tissue signage though.”

He mentioned that it was the first time he had come across such amusing signages, and their humor truly brightened his day.

This video has garnered 828K views and 129.7K likes as of the time of writing!

“An eatery should display a notice that says, ‘Smokers will get beaten up badly; the owner has a lawyer on standby to bail you out from the court.'”

“Whoever came up with that idea, you’re really cute.”
