A new shopping mall is on its way to greet the public very soon!
Taking up about 1.2 million square feet of gross built-up area, KL East Mall is expected to open on 25 November! This shopping complex is the first fully-owned retail mall by Sime Darby Property. Due to its strategic location in Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur, it aims to attract the overwhelming student population within its surrounding areas.
Initially, it was meant to launch its official opening in March 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, their plans were postponed. Some of the reconfiguration on the mall had to be stopped during the Movement Control Order (MCO). But everything was resumed to work subsequently as they obeyed the rules and regulations set by the government during the pandemic period, according to BERNAMA.
Safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will strictly be practiced at all times.
“We are prepared to protect the health and safety of the public visiting our premises and will continue to practice relevant precautionary measures for those visiting KL East Mall when it opens,” Sime Darby said.
Thus, preventive measures have been further reinforced. For example:
- Temperature screenings
- Health declarations
- Daily sanitisation of relevant areas
- Placement of hand sanitisers at suitable spots
- Placement of designated stickers at important points to practice physical distancing.
Here are some of the tenants that will soon be residing in this luxury mall;
