Life is more often than not described in stages, and in your mid-20s to early 30s, you’re expected to get married, buy a house, and have children.
This lifestyle might be good for some people but not for others.
Recently, a YouTuber named Torres conducted a street interview with the elderly in Singapore. In the interview, he asked for their life advice and some of their regrets.
One particular interview was done with a 71-year-old auntie who is still working. When asked if she is married, she said yes and added that she has 2 children.
Out of curiosity, Torres asked her what she thought about Singaporean men. The honest auntie then said she had nothing to say, but speaking from experience, Singaporean husbands do not help with housework.
Torres then built up on that and asked her, “If you could choose again, what nationality would you want your husband to be?” to which she answered:
“I won’t get married!” while laughing and walking away.
The YouTuber ended the video by saying that maybe not getting married is the best life advice.
Many female netizens in the comments echoed the thought.
“I also won’t get married if I have another chance (at life).”
“After going through marriage, if I can do it all over again, I wouldn’t get married, is what many people would say,” said a user.
Another user commented, “I also choose not to marry.”
