In a special televised address in relation to Covid-19, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced several things. Some include:
All mass gatherings to be canceled or postpone till at least 30 April
These mass gatherings include formal, religious, sports and social events.
Upgrade screening process at entry points
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin continued, as reported by Bernama, that the government will also be upgrading the screening process at all international entry points as well as special lanes for visitors from countries that are greatly affected by the virus. The capabilities of our laboratories to detect Covid-19 will also be upgraded to ensure faster and more accurate detection.
No travelling to affected countries
Our beloved PM has also advised all Malaysians not to travel to the affected countries for the time being. At the moment, 65 affected Malaysians in Iran while 323 affected Malaysians in Italy are in the process of being transported back home.
Travel ban has been imposed to these areas
The government will also impose a travel ban on three districts in China (Hubei, Jiangsu dan Zhejian), Hokkaido, Italy, Iran, and the Korean Republic. The rakyat is also advised to always take care of their health, wear a mask, wash our hands and limit physical contact.
For everyone out there, please do comply with the steps in ensuring the spread of Covid-19 be controlled. Whatever traveling plans or events, please put it aside first because, at the end of the day, this is a pandemic that needs to be handled by all of us. Let’s do this Malaysia!
