On Wednesday (July 5), Meta launched Threads, a new social media app that garnered over five million registered users in just four hours.
The new app by Meta is very a rival to Twitter, where users can post pictures and videos that are up to five minutes long.
Malaysian brands and public figures quickly registered themselves on the app and started posting hilarious memes and gifs as their first posts on the platform.
Here is a compilation of a few of the funniest and most random ones.
The most random
Syed Saddiq greeted his followers with a picture of his face photoshopped onto a picture of Chris Evans’ chiselled body as Captain America.
Meanwhile, ex Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak posted a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature ‘Siuu’ celebration on his brand new Threads account.
Although it is funny and random, we’re unsure if he was trying to hint at something.
A social media admin’s nightmare
The introduction of Threads has also brought about yet another social media platform for social media managers and admins out there to handle and post content.
With this, the social media admins of various brands and companies took to the app to share their thoughts, through memes and gifs.
