Heartbreaking Video Shows People Performing CPR on Deceased Workers After Crane Collapsed in Putrajaya

2 Indonesian workers died while another was severely injured after they had fallen from a collapsing crane while painting a building in Precinct 8, Putrajaya.

According to a report by Berita Harian, the incident took place at 9:20am, when the 3 men were painting the walls of the 7th floor of a condo while standing in the basket of the crane. The crane was said to overturn and fall to the ground, causing all 3 men to fall along with it.

Putrajaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed, shared that the deceased victims were identified as 54-year-old Sukawan Wilkhan and 53-year-old Danianto Yusak, while the injured victim was identified as 56-year-old Yasin.

“Initial investigations found that the accident was caused when the hydraulic jack of the machinery sank into the ground, causing the crane to lose balance and overturn. At the time of the incident, the 3 victims were in the basket of the crane to paint the building,” he said.

 

People tried to save them

Videos following the incident were shared on social media, where people could be seen performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the fallen workers, while white paint covered the workers and the ground.
