It’s no secret that Malaysia is full of football fans, including from the differently-abled community. But not everyone gets to catch every game or tournament that involves their favourite team.
Considering the efforts of one of their differently-abled fans to catch their matches at the Asia Cup in Doha, Qatar, Malaysia’s national team, Harimau Malaya, decided to take some time out to greet and interact with him.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) took to their official TikTok to share the session between their president, the players of Harimau Malaya and the fan.
They wrote, “FAM President, Datuk Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin, the national head coach, Kim Pan Gon and the players of the Harimau Malaya squad greeted Muhammad Ridzwan Erman Effendi, a differently-abled Harimau Malaya supporter who is blind at the team’s hotel in Doha, Qatar, before the team heading to the training field earlier.”
“Ridzwan, who is 27-years-old, and his brother, Raff Iskandar Erman Effendi, flew to Qatar to give their support to the Harimau Malaya squad for the Asia Cup 2023 tournament.”
During the session, they gifted Ridzwan a jersey as a sign of appreciation for him and his brother’s support.
The team even took the time to converse with Ridzwan and his brother, and signed the jersey they had brought with them.
