The Kelantan government has announced new rules for individuals entering Kelantan starting 9 November 2020 where these individuals have to wear either pink or green bracelets.

State Local Government, Housing and Health Committee Chairman Dr Izani Hussin said travellers entering Kelantan from red zone areas are required to undergo a swab test, wear a pink bracelet and to undergo home quarantine for 14 days, reported Astro Awani.

On the other hand, individuals who enter Kelantan due to official government matters will be given green bracelets.

ā€œThe JKN meeting recently decided that we will make restrictions at the state’s entrances for the first time to introduce new bracelets – two colours namely green and pink,” a statement said.

ā€œThis pink bracelet is for those who come from red zone areas into Kelantan toĀ balik kampung. They would have to be quarantined for 14 days and those who go out to the store, for example, will be fined RM1,000.”

The statement adds that the green bracelet is for government officials and VIPs who enter the Kuantan state for official government meetings. They would have to undergo a swab test before they are given a green bracelet and can only travel to meeting places. Visitation to other places is not allowed.

According to Dr Izani, the decision was made in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Kelantan which still remains a green zone state.

He said if those wearing pink bracelets are found wandering outside their homes, legal action would be taken.

Meanwhile, those wearing a green bracelet will be allowed to visit their place of business only. After finishing their duties, the green bracelet will be removed once they leave Kelantan.
