Yes, it’s official. KFC is finally bringing their famous Chizza to Malaysia!
We had the chance to try out this unique fried-chicken-and-pizza hybrid, which is set to be in all KFC outlets starting tomorrow (Tuesday, 21st November).
From all the attention this got earlier this year, we definitely had to try it out for ourselves to see what all the fuss was about. Here are our first impressions!
1. The size
We got the Chizza a la carte (priced at RM7.90). Size-wise, it’s not MASSIVE, so if you need more than one piece of chicken to fill you up, we suggest getting their two-piece combo options. The Chizza Combo comes with a drink and fries, while the Combo Box comes with a drumstick, along with fries and a drink.
2. The toppings
KFC definitely went through a traditional route with a simple tomato sauce and onion base, topped with some delicious cheese melted to perfection and even some chilli flakes and herbs for that perfect hint of spice! Plus, if you’re the type of person who loves Hawaiian pizza, you’ll definitely love this because it has a generous scatter of pineapple pieces, too!
3. The taste
Last but certainly not least, is the taste of the Chizza.
At the very first bite, we could definitely taste the signature spice of their Hot & Spicy Chicken. The tomato sauce with onions definitely offered just the right amount of tang and added crunch, too.
As pineapple on pizza advocates, we definitely see the pineapple chunks as an added bonus, because it perfectly balances out the mild spice of the chicken. If you’re not too wild about pineapples, the cheese and spice will definitely make up for that, because who doesn’t love cheese!
To sum up, think crispy, Hawaiian pizza-flavoured fried chicken with a dash of fiery spice!
All in all, the Chizza was better than what we expected, and if you’re curious, it’s totally worth trying it out when it comes out in KFC outlets nationwide starting tomorrow (21st November)! Check out KFC Malaysia’s website here for more information!
