It’s only normal for significant others to feel nervous and anxious when meeting their other half’s parents for the first time.

But for one girlfriend in China, meeting her boyfriend’s parents only ended in anger.

According to a post on Weibo, the girlfriend shared how she was left disappointed after she was served a spread of ‘simple’ dishes during her short stay with her boyfriend’s parents.

After apparently spending a two and a half hour journey to meet her boyfriend’s parents for the first time, she was served with a meal of noodles with fried eggs, stir fried vegetables, pumpkin porridge and some cold dishes.

Not happy with what was presented to her, she asked her boyfriend why his parents had refrained from making ‘fancier’ dishes considering they were meeting for the first time.

“This is what is eaten in the daily life of regular folks,” he said.

This made her even more upset as she apparently does not like noodles, but was served noodles for every meal. She then ended up only spending two days there before breaking up with her boyfriend and leaving.

Many have since pointed out that the girlfriend had the right to do so, as to them, women have always had to go above and beyond to find a partner who can take good care of them.

Others also shared that the girlfriend and boyfriend merely have different mindsets, and that’s okay.

What do you think about this whole situation? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
