Over the weekend, many people have gone to celebrate ‘Qi Xi’ (Chinese Valentine’s Day) but unfortunately for this couple, it wasn’t a pleasant weekend.
A girl has posted an anonymous post on a Facebook group about her experience on Chinese Valentine’s Day.
In her post, she said, “It was Chinese Valentine’s Day yesterday (August 4), and I thought my partner would’ve surprised me. I was so wrong! He didn’t even do anything about it.”
“I even called him to ask if he knew what’s going on and he said he knew. He told me that he has put most of his money into an investment account and has not much money left to spare.”
“He also said that he has lost a lot of money from a failed investment project, he wants to save up so he didn’t want to celebrate,” she wrote.
“I got so angry and broke up with him. It’s none of my business that you lost most of your money in a failed investment project. How could you sacrifice a ‘festive’ season for that,” she added.
“Tell me, did I do the right thing?”
Netizens were shocked at how entitled she sounds
Many netizens were shocked at how entitled she sounds and one of them said, “Both of you have different life values. I think you should just let go. He deserves better, and you deserve the love you desire.”
“I just want to know, since it’s none of your business that he doesn’t have money, would it be any of your business if he starts earning money,” asked another user.
Another user said, “This is so scary, please just break up with him and let him have a peaceful life.”
Meanwhile, some users said that if she wanted to celebrate it that much, she could’ve offered to pay.
“If you wanted to celebrate it, you could pay for the evening. Please just break up with him, let him find happiness,” said a netizen.
“You could’ve paid for it if you wanted to celebrate. Compromise. ”
As social media users, we’d occasionally stumble across different types of ‘confessions’ on Facebook. Some may be serious, amusing, or outright ridiculous. As it’s an anonymous post, we also remind everyone to take it with a pinch of salt.
