Malaysians have come to know and love sooka as the leading entertainment streaming service. But once in a while, sooka offers some real-life fun with their incredible events, one of which took place at Pavilion Bukit Jalil!
On 29 November, 273 participants turned up for the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge for a full day of entertainment and competitive challenges, all while streaming sooka LIVE!
More than just a fun day out, the event also marked sooka achieving recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for having the Most Participants in a Streaming Multitasking Challenge!
From exciting activities and musical performances, to a national record, there was something for everyone to sooka Gilerrr about this event! Here’s everything that went down:
Participants put their “streaming skills” to the test
Given how streaming on sooka has become a shared obsession for many Malaysians, sooka wanted to turn a simple pastime into a fun event via the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge! The challenges created a fun and competitive platform to show just how far participants would go to stream their favourite content.
As the main part of the event, physical challenges were given to competitors to test their focus and stamina while streaming. These are the challenges that participants needed to complete to prove their streaming skills:
- sooka Says: The contestants were required to follow fast-paced instructions without looking away from their screens.
- Pontianak Scares: A distraction round where participants had to endure feather tickles, jokes, and jump scares.
- Freeze Challenge: Contestants needed to hold specific poses while still streaming.
- Balance Challenge: Participants tested their coordination and balance by keeping a can of Vida on their open palm while standing steadily without interrupting their streaming.
Many stood up to the challenges, but very few came out on top, winning stupendous prizes, including a Samsung 85-inch QLED Smart TV, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a MacBook Air, and one winner went home with the grand prize: a Proton e.MAS 5!
But all in all, with how much fun the participants and spectators had that day, everyone was a winner!
Celebrities and performers raised spirits for the day
The challenges weren’t the only exciting part of the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge. To build up the momentum, sooka brand ambassadors Evertts Gomes, Aiman Ameer, Wani Kayrie and Kimberly Chuah were present at the event to chat, host quizzes, and spend time with fans. The event also featured performances by Dewi Remaja finalists, Jaguh Rakan Muda contestants, the Top 12 from Astro Star Quest, as well as cast members from Astro Originals and sooka Shorts.
At night, near the end of the event, the programme was graced by more of sooka’s top artists and celebrities, including ALPHA, Qasrina Karim, Mierul Aiman and Khai Bahar, bringing a fanmeet vibe to a day already packed with incredible activities!

A first look into the bite-sized sooka Shorts
The event also gave us a sneak peek into sooka Shorts, the short-form entertainment segment of the platform! Launching this December, sooka offered an early preview of its new microdrama feature, designed for viewers who want quick, riveting stories that fit perfectly with viewers looking for entertainment on the go. As short-form dramas gain traction worldwide, this format cements sooka as Malaysia’s homegrown leader in the microdrama space, expanding its content offering and giving audiences more flexibility in how they enjoy entertainment.
Starting this 12 December, viewers can enjoy titles such as Mandrem, Gadis Dihina Pemilik Empayar, Mak Kau CEO Aku, and Raja Fitnah. To make things more exciting, 2026 will see more collaborations with regional production studios to produce original Chinese titles, in addition to short-form K-drama content. Selected episodes will be available for free, while full access will be offered to customers on the Entertainment plan and higher tiers.
