It’s tough to survive for a month without getting your pay, let alone 3 months. The founder of Kelantan Football Club, Norizam Tukiman is said to have not paid the salaries of the football players for 3 months.
Taking to his TikTok account @zamsahamnorizam, Norizam recently confirmed the rumors are true but clarified that he had deposited an advance of RM1,000 to the players right before Raya. This is to allow them to have some “backup” for the celebration, and as for the remainder of the outstanding pay, Norizam said that he will pay them in instalment.
Despite the circumstances, Norizam remains optimistic and is sure that everything will be okay eventually.
“I’m sure this issue will be solved eventually.”
In an isolated case, another player from Kelantan FC, Ailee claimed that he has not received his salary for the past 7 months. In the same video, Norizam said this is a “unique” case in which Ailee was supposed to be paid by the sponsor but it did not happen.
“The sponsor was supposed to pay Ailee’s salary but I realised the money has not been deposited into Kelantan FC’s bank account at all.”
Norizam also said he was shocked when he got a letter from the Malaysia Professional Football Player Committee (PFAM) regarding the matter when the salary was supposed to be paid by the sponsor. Regardless, Norizam explained in his video that it is still Kelantan FC’s responsibility and the sponsor will make the effort to solve this issue.
“For Ailee’s case, the sponsor will not ignore this matter. I’ll see them soon and make sure there are no other issues, or else Kelantan FC will have to bear the consequences,” Norizam explained.
He also apologised for the inconvenience and assure the public that he has never tried to run away from this matter.
