The Road Transport Department (JPJ) took action against a man after he was caught driving a pickup truck without a valid driving licence in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (26 March).
In a Facebook post, JPJ Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) said the foreign national was stopped during a Hari Raya operation, and the vehicle was later seized.

According to Harian Metro, Kuala Lumpur JPJ Director Hamidi Adam said the man, a Bangladeshi national, claimed he was sending his brother to work.
He later showed his driving licence, which enforcement officers confirmed was a Bangladeshi driving licence.
“The vehicle belongs to the company where the driver’s brother works. They were on their way to the Bangladesh Embassy to send his brother to work,” he said.

Hamidi added that the pickup truck was later seized to help with investigations under the Road Transport Act 1987.
“JPJ WPKL continues to pay close attention and carry out ongoing monitoring of all complaints to ensure vehicles comply with the established road rules and regulations.”
