Kelantan, however, is not the only state currently hit by the disaster. As of 3 PM today (November 28), a total of 48,886 victims across the country have been moved to a temporary evacuation centre (PPS), with Kelantan recording the highest number of victims, which currently stands at 39,729.

Based on the data shared by the Malaysian Department of Social Welfare on its official website, Terengganu records the second highest number of evacuated victims (7,966), followed by:

  • Kedah (844)
  • Perlis (280)
  • Johor (28)
  • Perak (20)

The statistics also revealed that among the evacuated victims, 685 of them are male infants while 629 of them are female infants.

A total of 398 evacuation centres are operating at the moment to provide shelter for the victims.

According to a recent update by the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to continue to pour until tomorrow (Friday, November 29), with Kelantan, Terengganu and 2 districts in Pahang (Kuantan and Jerantut) marked as danger zones.

We hope the situation in the affected states will improve soon, and to those who are often on the road, please drive safe especially when it’s pouring.
