The first phase of University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Hospital located at UTAR’s Kampar campus is expected to launch in August or September this year (2021).
In the first phase, there will be 100 beds included in the Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine building. The second phase, on the other hand, will consist of 250 beds in the Western Medicine facilities and is expected to be completed next year (2022).
Other than providing quality and affordable medical and health services for both Western and Traditional Medicines, the non-profit hospital will also offer clinical training for UTAR’s students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Traditional and Contemporary Medicine course and Health Science course.
When completed, the hospital will comprise of facilities for out-patient and in-patient treatment, diagnostics and treatment, medical and non-medical support, as well as administrative centres for the staff and students’ research and education use.
In a video from the UTAR Hospital’s official page, it shows that some of the construction of buildings such as the Traditional and Contemporary Medicine Block, ACMV Plant Room, Staff Accommodation, and Thermal Energy Storage Tank have progressed more than 70 per cent.
Hopefully, in the near future, more affordable medical help can be provided to those in need! For more details, please visit UTAR Hospital’s official page here.
