A family is currently going viral online as Malaysians have been left shocked and amused by the fact that they have Malay, Chinese and Indian family members.

Famous Penang Nasi Kandar eatery, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, took to their Facebook page to shine a spotlight on the family, who they initially thought were neighbours who were dining together at their restaurant.

Multiracial 1

Nasi Kandar Sulaiman wrote in its caption, “Here, in this one family, they have Malays, Chinese and Indians. They came from Ipoh to have Nasi Kandar. In the beginning, we thought they were neighbours, but they themselves told us that they are all one family.”

“It’s so beautiful to see the unity in this family. They are very united. It’s rare to see a family like this.”

How did this happen?

The multiracial family has not only left people baffled by how they came to be, but also impressed that such a racially harmonious family can exist.

“How does it happen to this extent? Even if they’re of mixed race, it would just be between 2 races. But they have 3 races.”

“Wah, this is truly 1Malaysia. May this family always be happy.”

“This is how we want things, right? Push politics aside.”

“These are Malaysians who live in harmony.”
