The year-end could mean bonuses for many employees, and Evergreen Taiwan announced a piece of good news for its workers.

The shipping company will be issuing 20 months of bonuses, which is equivalent to almost 2 years of salary.

Evergreen Marine’s earnings per share (EPS) for the first three quarters reached NT$50.68 (approximately RM6.90). Based on the three quarters’ profit and a profit-sharing percentage of 0.5%, each employee will receive an additional NT$190,000 (approximately RM25,900) after the annual shareholder meeting, reported Taiwan News.

If an employee’s monthly salary is NT$60,000 (approximately RM8,100), this bonus translates to an extra 3.1 months, potentially reaching 4 months with fourth-quarter profits.

In the third quarter of 2024, Evergreen Marine reported consolidated net profit after tax of NT$61.913 billion, a year-on-year increase of 182.60%, with an EPS of NT$28.75.

The company previously awarded up to 52 months in 2022 for record profits while offering only 4 to 6 months in 2023 as the shipping market cooled.

Have you heard any good news about the bonuses in your workplace?
