Paris Olympic athletes have been sharing their experiences from the games, and while there’s been a lot of excitement, we’ve been eagerly waiting to hear from our own Malaysian athlete as well… though not necessarily about the games.
Malaysian shuttler Goh Jin Wei recently took to her Instagram to share her experiences in Paris for the Olympics, capturing the attention of many netizens.
She installed a portable aircond
In the video, Goh is seen setting up her own portable air-conditioning unit in her room at the Olympic Village in Paris.
Her decision to set up the air conditioner came after she was only provided with a stand fan, prompting her to take matters into her own hands.
While setting up her air conditioner, she was seen attaching an exhaust hose to the unit, enabling the hot air to be vented out through the window.
The caption of the post reads,

Paris is experiencing extreme heat!
According to BBC, Paris is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures expected to soar to 35°C.
A heat warning has been issued for Paris and nearby areas, with a “yellow alert” in effect. The heat level warning is currently at a 2 out of 4, meaning it’s pretty hot but not the most severe level.
The video has raised concerns among netizens about the living conditions athletes are experiencing during the games.
“Just looking at that stand fan makes you feel so demotivated. I feel sorry for all the athletes there.”
