On 1 September, a senior citizen accidentally ploughed his Myvi into a hypermarket in Puchong, injuring a fast-food employee. According to sources, the incident happened at Tesco Puchong, around 4.30pm.
As reported by Utusan Malaysia, Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner A. Anbalagan said the incident happened when the 64-year-old driver wanted to go home after buying necessities at the supermarket.
However, the senior citizen accidentally stepped on the accelerator, causing the car he was driving to crash into the hypermarket and hit a male employee who was standing in front of the counter of a food outlet.
“As a result of the violation, the 31-year-old victim was injured and is currently receiving treatment at Serdang Hospital. His condition is reported to be stable, while the driver of the car did not suffer any injuries,” he said.
Anbalagan added that the case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
