At least eight people have died and numerous others injured at the Astroworld Music Festival, when rapper Travis Scott took center stage.
Another case of things getting out of hand, the matter took global attention when
authorities revealed that the incident took place because the crowd began pushing towards the stage when Travis Scott was performing.
According to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena, the incident took place between 9 to 9:15 pm.
“The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage…and that caused panic and started causing injuries.”
“People began to fall out, become unconscious and it created additional panic.”
“We’ve transported 17 patients, 11 of those were in the state of cardiac arrest.”
“We do not know the cause of death of the eight that are confirmed.”
What’s more disgusting is the fact that those who attended the concert began jumping on security vehicles trying to reach the mosh pit victims.
In a tweet, netizen @SquirtReynolds slammed the crowd at the concert for “jumping on the cars of security personnel when they were trying to get to unconscious people in the crowd.”
To add more fuel to the fire, those who attended the concert were unapologetic of their attitude and did not care about the deaths that took place.
Netizens were not impressed.
Commenting on the incident many felt that the concert should be paused instead of choosing to turn a profit over lives.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Should they have done better?
