The old people in your house will tell you that after you eat durian, you will need to use the shell as a cup to drink water so that it would not be “heaty”.
However, a seller on Shopee believes that there is another use for the durian shells. The seller decided to sell the durian shells for other purposes such as punishment for husbands which only costs 18 cents!
The listing which is in Mandarin is directly translated as “(Large stock) Fresh durian shell Modern design Can be used as a cup Suitable for husbands to kneel on Best gift from wife to husband If you don’t know how many pieces to buy, look at product description”.
So as responsible consumers, we took a look at the product description and lo and behold, they have very specific recommendations for use.
- 1 shell is for 1 knee (he wasn’t sincere when proposing),
- 2 shells are for when the husband gets home late,
- 3 shells are for when he hides money from you,
- 4 shells are for when he hides money from you and pretends to not know,
- 5 shells are for when he has an affair (for 5 shells and above, they suggest the husband to lie on it face down),
- 6 shells are for getting caught red-handed having an affair,
- 7 shells are for husbands who go out without wearing a mask, &
- 8 shells are for those who did not abide by the SOPs.
The store also said that one parcel is limited to 8 pieces of shell only and it would be in random colours/sizes/shapes.
The listing actually only has 1 5-star review and according to it, they managed to get a Musang King shell which does not hurt when they knelt on it.
