The 2017 G20 Summit is the meeting of the governments and central bank governors from 20 major economies. It recently took place over 2 days, 7-8 July, in Hamburg, Germany.

One of the guest countries participating in the 2017 G20 Summit is our neighbour, Singapore.

So, what got the whole internet laughing their arse off (or face palming) about this summit, is an instagram post from Donald Trump’s official account.

According to the caption for an image of Trump and Lee Hsien long aka PM of Singapore, it wrote,

“President Trump and the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.”

Yes, that’s the real caption on the official instagram account with 7.1 million followers!

Several hours later, the caption was edited to fix the hiccup, of course not before thousands of people poked fun about it.

Granted, we’re sure Trump did not REALLY think Lee Hsien Loong is the president of Indonesia, since official social media accounts like these are usually handled by someone else.

Based on the image, we can deduce that the error most likely came from the social media person assuming that the flag behind the two leaders was an Indonesian flag. Big oopsies!

Anyway, I can only imagine what is to become of Trump’s social media guy:
