Being a dog owner can be a tricky situation. You have to train your dog, love, feed and protect it, while also ensuring that it doesn’t pose a danger to others.
Here’s one of those tricky situations.
Bukit Mertajam pet store, BabyPetz Kennels异宠情缘, recently took to their Facebook page to showcase a dead pet dog, after it was allegedly slashed by a drunk person who claims it bit them.
They wrote, “I was dealing with dogs and cats in the store at 10pm when I suddenly received crying from the other end of the phone (they received a phone call). I asked repeatedly and only heard ‘My dog had been slashed‘.”
“It seemed to have very serious injuries which needed to be dealt with immediately. When I made a video call with the owner to confirm the injuries, I could see that there were several wounds on the lower body of the dog and it was bleeding a lot. I immediately got their location, packed all the emergency supplies and headed out.”
Though, sadly, the dog didn’t survive for much longer and passed away before they could arrive.
“Five minutes later, the owner called and said that the dog was not breathing. I went over to learn about the incident,”
“What was heartbreaking was that it turned out that someone was drunk and said that the dog bit them, and they slashed the dog several times. The dog was slashed at a vital area and lost too much blood and died in pain,” they explained. What a truly saddening way to lose a beloved pet.
While it is heartbreaking to see such violence against a dog, there are still many questions about this incident that have been left unanswered.
Where was the dog when the slashing happened? Was it left to freely roam outside of its home or was it within the owner’s compound? Was the perpetrator really bitten by the dog? If the perpetrator was really bitten, did they provoke the dog in any way or was it unprovoked?
If the perpetrator was bitten without provocation, why didn’t they take the appropriate action by reporting the incident to the authorities? If the perpetrator was really bitten, where are the medical records to prove this?
We genuinely hope that more information comes to light in regard to this matter.
