As 2024 carries on and everyone heads back into the groove of employment once again, boredom in the office is bound to strike at different intervals of time – even at points throughout the same day. So what better way to fill your time than to plan for your next vacation!
A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after Malaysian content creator Yaya Mohammad shared a passage many people may not know about, bordering Perak and Thailand. In the video shared to her page @kak.yy, the influencer conveyed how she and her family planned a trip to Thailand, specifically the Southern regions of Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat.
Making the decision to drive to said locations, Yaya revealed that there is a border located at Pangkalan Hulu in Perak which connects to Betong in Thailand. Panning through the video, Yaya showed just how clear and smooth the roads were, with barely any traffic congestion during her journey.
Sharing tips and informative details about things she prepared before the trip, Yaya stated that she had initially stopped at a nearby police station to receive a chop for a copy of her car grant. Yaya later added in the comments section under her post that this step is only necessary if you don’t have the original copy of your car grant.
Aside from that, Yaya also emphasised on the need to purchase car insurance before crossing the border.
After gathering said documents, Yaya stated that she and her family began the process of crossing the border by going to the Pangkalan Hulu Immigration Department. Following that, Yaya drove to the Betong Immigration Checkpoint at the Thai border, reminding travellers to bring along their car declaration form as well, as it is compulsory to have before crossing the border.
“The immigration process here is so quick because there’s not a lot of people. That’s all! We managed to cross the border to Thailand right after!” wrote Yaya in the caption of her post.
Garnering a massive response online, multiple users who frequent Thailand using this border jokingly called Yaya out for revealing their “secret passage”, as now, many would likely use this way when travelling there too.
“Huhu, we use this border every week to go to Thailand, cause we live so close by!” commented one user.
On the other hand, multiple users also stated that many people are probably not aware of this border at Perak, and that it will come in handy for other travellers over time.
