A few days ago, videos of belly dancers dancing outside a store in Bukit Bintang, KL, went viral, with Malaysians condemning the dancers for their inappropriate actions.
Following the backlash of the incident, it was reported that DBKL officers raided the clothing store even though the clothing store management has since apologised and clarified that they were unaware of the outfit choice and had stopped the performance after 5 minutes.
After a few days of waiting, it seems that DBKL has finally made the decision to order the store to close down. A post on its official Facebook page stated that they had raided the store and found that the premise in question was operated by 4 foreign workers who did not have valid work permits.
“Therefore, DBKL issued a compound notice for employing foreign workers without a valid work permit and a compound notice for carrying out activities other than those licensed.”
“The premises were also ordered to be closed immediately because they were operated by non-citizens,” according to them.
