A dashcam recording of a road accident has been circulating on social media recently, involving a vehicle and a group of cyclists.
The 22-second dashcam video was from the vehicle that ran over the cyclists and was shared by many social media accounts, including this post by MyNewsHub on Twitter which has gone viral with over 620,000 views.
In the incident, believed to have happened somewhere near Kota Warisan in Sepang, Selangor based on the footage, the vehicle was driving in the left lane before coming across the group of cyclists.
Prior to the accident, a white SUV can be seen overtaking the group of cyclists by switching to the right lane.
The dashcam footage then shows the vehicle’s driver continuing driving on the left lane despite seeing the group of cyclists in front of him.
The vehicle then inevitably crashed into the cyclist group, directly hitting one of the cyclists and causing another cyclist to crash.
Both bikers ended up crashing on the road with their bicycles damaged and lying on the right lane. It is unknown what happened in the aftermath of the crash.

In the replies to the tweet, Malaysians were divided on the incident, with some criticising the cyclists for dangerously biking on the main road while others said that the driver should’ve been more careful and not hit the group.
One netizen claimed that the driver was not at fault because the cyclists shouldn’t use the road and instead cycle at designated cycling tracks.
Meanwhile, another netizen said that while the cyclists were at fault for biking on the road, it doesn’t mean that the driver could just crash into them as the individual may face legal action for the accident.
