The co-founder of the Crackhouse Comedy Club will be charged in court tomorrow, in connection with a video recording of a comedy performance that is said to be derogatory and racist.
Based on a report by Berita Harian, the co-founder will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court (Cyber Crime) at 9am.
The charges will be made by the Classified Crime Investigation Unit (USJT) of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) in accordance with Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Earlier, it was reported that the police had arrested the 39-year-old co-founder to help with investigations into the spread of two video clips at the comedy club, that allegedly touched on sensitivities and is considered racist.
The suspect was arrested at about 1.30pm this afternoon at a location in Kuala Lumpur and was placed at the lock-up in Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) on July 14.
He was arrested due to several police reports made against him and he was remanded for a day before being released on bail.
