“The car wasn’t seized”
Hamidi Adam, the Director of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) for Kuala Lumpur, mentioned that they didn’t seize the vehicle, and let a licensed passenger drive it home.
Instead, they clarified that the driver, a Chinese national, was given a summons during the Special Integrated Operation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2025.
“We apologise for any confusion caused,” they added.

30 summonses were issued during the operation
The operation involved 115 officers and personnel from various agencies, including JPJ, the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK).
Hamidi mentioned that JSPT inspected 60 vehicles and issued 30 summonses.
“463 notices were issued for offenses like driving without a license, no vocational license, no road tax, no insurance, and vehicle modifications. JIM checked 29 foreign nationals, arresting 1 man and 2 women from Indonesia, while AADK tested 37 individuals, arresting 3 (2 men and 1 woman) for testing positive for marijuana.”
