Malaysia’s premier obstacle competition is back in 2024 and promises to be the most exciting edition yet!

This event is part of an initiative to support the National Athlete Development with MORSA!

The O-Zone Games is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Tourism Malaysia® and MORSA (Malaysia Obstacle Race Sports Association) which aims to further develop and promote obstacle sports in Malaysia and within Southeast Asia. Young, talented Malaysian participants will have the chance to be selected into the obstacle sports national team, as MORSA is on a roll to attract more competitors from within Malaysia and overseas to provide more exposure for local obstacle sports athletes.

Push yourself to the limit with their Open and Rookie categories

Wanna get a feel of the adrenaline-pumping excitement you always see on those obstacle course shows on TV? Now you can do just that by participating in these games!

With two distinct categories, Rookie and Open (with a Male & Female category for each group), the O-Zone Games 2024 lets everyone in on the excitement of obstacle course racing regardless of their experience level. Here’s what each category entails:

  • Rookie: This category is tailored for those who are new to obstacle racing. The Rookie category offers a challenging yet manageable course to test newcomers’ physical and mental grit.*
  • Open: For seasoned obstacle athletes, this category presents a more challenging course, where every inch imposes a test on the endurance, agility and determination of participants. Definitely not for the weak-willed ah!

*Podium winners for past years’ O-Zone Games and National Team for 2019 & 2023 SEAGAMES Athletes are not allowed to join Rookie

Here are the O-Zone course stages you’ll be up against once you participate:

  • Stage 1: 12 obstacles (3 minutes)
  • Stage 2: 10 – 12 obstacles (4 minutes)
  • Stage 3 (Open only): 10 – 12 obstacles (6 minutes)

Participants can participate in each Category individually and are separated into either the Male or Female Category. Players are allowed to compete in more than one category but are only allowed to win one of the Categories each year.

Understanding how to overcome each obstacle is the first step of conquering the game, so check out the post below which covers (most of) the Stage 1 obstacles or download their full guidebook via the following link!

To give you a little bit more insight, here are some of the obstacles that will put you to the test in the Games:

  • Ring Alley

  • Balance Beam

Jump from the Slip Wall to the Balance Beam and then travel from one end of the beam to another.

  • Warped Wall

Get three tries to ascend the wall and hit the buzzer awaiting at the top.
