The Immigration Department raided the headquarters of an online gambling syndicate and arrested 10 men and one woman, all Chinese nationals.
During the raid, authorities seized several items, including RM3,900 in cash and a box of condoms.

In a statement issued this morning (12 October), the Immigration Department’s Director-General said that, based on public intelligence and following two weeks of covert investigation, a team from the Putrajaya headquarters conducted a raid at 3:50 PM on 9 September at a luxury shophouse on Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur.
Ten Chinese men and one Chinese woman, aged between 20 and 40, were arrested. Two of the men held tourist visas, five had overstayed, and the remaining three men and one woman did not possess valid entry or exit permits.

All 11 individuals were taken to the Putrajaya Immigration Department for further investigation.
“Authorities confiscated seven Chinese passports, 11 laptops, seven mobile phones, three desktop computers, and RM3,900 in cash,” the statement read.
The syndicate had rented luxury shophouses to operate online gambling hubs targeting Chinese nationals abroad. They marketed and communicated through Telegram and WhatsApp.

The Immigration also said that two of the men were investigated for violating Section 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 (violation of entry permit regulations), five men were investigated under Section 15(4) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (overstay), and the remaining three men and one woman were investigated under Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (no legal entry permit).
