So, a while back, a foreigner from China had shocked the staff at a courier service over her proficiency of our national language, Bahasa Malaysia (BM). She informed the staff members that she knew BM because she had learned the language while back in her country.

Now, another Chinese national is gaining the attention of Malaysians for her insanely fluent mastery of BM.

Chinese reporter, Husna Liang, took to her Facebook page to showcase how she had interviewed Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, fully in BM.

She wrote, “Chinese reporter interviewed the Hon. Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Malay language.”

“This interview was conducted in conjunction with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the China-Malaysia diplomatic relations. It means a lot to me! Thank you very much!”

During the interview, Husna could be seen asking our DPM, in fluent Bahasa Malaysia, about his thoughts on his visit to China.

He then praised their hospitality and friendliness.

interview 3

“Because, before this, when Datuk Seri was in Shanghai, you shared some suggestions for Malaysian youths. So, today, I want to ask; if you can, Datuk Seri, share some advice or a message for us, Chinese youths including me, who would like to improve the friendship between our 2 countries,” she asked in fluent BM. Guys, she even perfectly used ‘lahs’!

It was obvious that our DPM was very impressed with how fluent she is in BM!
