It’s no secret that many mixed rice eateries provide discounts near their closing time to attract customers to buy off their last remaining food items and to avoid wastage. However, this has caused people to take advantage of the discounts.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, customers have been flooding a Malaysian mixed rice restaurant, only to fill up their plates with dishes they consider the “good stuff” and wait until 8:30 PM, when the restaurant starts its 50% discount, to make payment.

It is said that customers would arrive 10 to 15 minutes before 8:30 PM, stock up their plates and sit down to wait for 8:30 PM to make payment in order to benefit from the 50% discount.

As a result of this, customers who arrive after 8:30 PM would be left without options for dishes, as there wouldn’t even be a piece of fried chicken left.

No discount if you take the food before 8:30 PM!

This has caused the restaurant owner to put up a sign informing customers not to take food before 8:30 PM, should they want the 50% discount.

The restaurant has also strictly informed that food taken before 8:30 PM will be charged at the original price, even if the payment is made after 8:30 PM.
