Malaysia records 21 new Covid-19 cases as of 5 August, with 15 import cases and six local transmissions including three new cases from the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah, according to the Ministry of Health.
Of the six local cases, three are from Kedah, two from Sabah and one from Johor.
As for the import cases, individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 returned from Yemen (12), Ivory Coast (1), Papua New Guinea (1) and the United Kingdom (1).
These imported cases have been isolated at quarantine centres after arrival at the International Entrance of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
Meanwhile, 18 recoveries have also been recorded, bringing the number of active cases down to 196 with two patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).
The death toll remains at 125 with a fatality rate of 1.39%.
