In today’s Parliamentary session (February 24), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Finance Minister, has retabled the revised Budget 2023.
In his announcement, Anwar stated that the government will suggest an amendment and debating of the Whistleblower Protection Act to protect whistleblowers in order to combat corruption and wrongdoing.
He also mentioned that government agencies are actively investigating corruption and that all government agencies including Inland Revenue Board, Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission and Police Force are actively investigating corruption and include the names connected to the Pandora Papers and anything else.
The Inland Revenue Board will also continue to investigate extraordinary wealth in a bid to fight corruption crimes before it is allowed to fester, said Anwar.
