Good news for car and motorcycle owners! In the Budget 2019 or better known as Belanjawan 2019, Minister of Finance Lim Guan Eng said that the government would be giving out petrol subsidies to certain cars and motorcycles.

This petrol subsidy will be given to private cars below 1,500cc and motorcycles below 125cc. He said that the government would give 30sens per litre of petrol subsidies that would be capped at 100 litres a month for cars and 40 litres for motorcycles. 

Lim added that they will be allocating RM2 billion for this subsidy, which would start approximately in the second quarter of 2020. It was reported that as many as four million private car owners and 2.6 million motorcycle owners will be able to enjoy this benefit. It was also noted that this would be applicable for car owners who had only one car below 1,500cc.
