A passenger shockingly fell from the platform at Pusat Bandar Puchong LRT Station this morning (1 August) and tragically died. This incident has been confirmed by one of our WORLD OF BUZZ staff who was at the scene.
According to a Facebook post shared by a netizen, it was not clear whether the victim had accidentally fallen off the platform onto the track or whether it was a suicide. The incident had caused a delay to the train schedule as the police were trying to clean up the track by removing pieces of the dead body. Oh no, RIP.
“At first, the police asked us to vacate the platform and we had to go to the ground floor. There was a dead body at the opposite train tracks and the police said the victim may have fallen off the train,” the netizen said.
As of 10am, the body has been removed and LRT’s services have resumed as normal.
NST also reported that it was a male passenger that was killed after he fell down onto the track at the Puchong LRT station at about 8am today.
At the time of writing, the authority has yet to issue an official statement on the incident. We will update this section once we received the latest information from the management.
Update: Based on the CCTV footage and the official statement from Rapid KL, the man intruded the station after operating hours and was found dead 50m away from the platform. The body was discovered by the train captain at 7.24am and the power supply had to be cut off temporarily in order to remove the body.
On the other hand, Malaysiakini reported that the man was walking on the track before getting fatally hit by a train. The police have ruled out any foul play and are still investigating the cause of death.
