Most of us have already expected the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases to skyrocket.

The Ministry of Health just announced on their official Twitter account that there are 190 new cases of Covid-19 as of today (15 March), bringing the total to 428.

The tweet also explained that most of the new cases are linked to the tabligh gathering at Masjid Sri Petaling.

They have also mentioned that nine cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 42 people have recovered so far.

The official statement released by MOH stated that the investigations and tracing of the attendees at the tabligh gathering is still on-going. The ministry urges the attendees who had been to the tabligh event to take immediate action by contacting the District Health Office. The attendees of this tabligh will be placed under the order of supervision and observation of section 15 (1), the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 [Act 342] for a period of 14 days, starting from the last day they attended the event.

This act is also effective for any Patient Under Investigation (PUI) who failed to follow the criteria to get themselves hospitalised.

Stay tuned for more updates.
