While Malaysians welcome the activists home following their alleged illegal detainment by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), 9 more mission aid ships, carrying Malaysian activists en route to Gaza, have been illegally intercepted by the Regime this morning (8 October).
At the time of writing, everyone on board the ships has lost contact, and their fates remain unknown.

9 more Malaysian activists were illegally detained by Israeli forces
The matter was confirmed by the Malaysian Humanitarian Care Control Centre (MyCARE) via its Facebook posts, which informed that the Freedom Flotilla mission ships were intercepted at 10:50 AM Malaysian time. Before losing contact, one of the ships was located about 120 nautical miles away from the Gaza coastline.
All 9 mission aid ships are under the management of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) and Thousand Madleens to Gaza (TMTG). The FFC x TMTG sailing mission across the Mediterranean Sea carried food supplies, medicine, and a message of peace calling for an end to the war and famine crisis and demanding the opening of a humanitarian corridor to Gaza.
A total of eight Malaysian delegations are currently sailing aboard the Conscience, with another delegation aboard the Umm Saad yacht for the FFC x TMTG mission.
The Malaysian delegations that boarded the FFC-owned ship Conscience are:
- Prof Emeritus Dr Mohd Alauddin Mohd Ali, head of the mission
- Dr Fauziah Hassan
- Dr Hafiz Sulaiman
- Dr Ili Syakira Mohd Suhaimi, journalist
- Syafik Shukri Abdul Jalil
- Prof Dr Mohd Afandi Salleh
- Dr Noorhasyimah Ismail
- MyCARE Board of Trustees member, Norsham Abu Bakar
- Dr Maziah Mohammad (aboard the Umm Saad yacht), according to MyCARE Facebook post.

“Inhumane & against human rights”
Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also acknowledged the matter, and according to his official statement today, he demanded the immediate release of the Malaysian activists and for them to be given protection.
“Stopping the ships carrying aid for the Palestinians is inhumane and against human rights. I strongly condemn this provocative act.”
