Her body was found in a bloated state

Earlier reports indicated that the woman was believed to have been in the river for over 24 hours, based on the bloated condition of the body.

In a recent update by Berita Harian, the deceased was identified following a missing persons report lodged by her sister.

She is believed to be a 23-year-old private college student who was reported missing on July 26.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said the victim had asked her sister to pick her up at the Putra Heights LRT station at 12PM on July 25.

There were no signs of foul play

Wan Azlan said a key was found in the victim’s pants pocket during further examination, prompting police to inspect a residence believed to be hers in Jalan Klang Lama.

“CCTV footage also captured the victim in the area prior to being reported missing. Her family was called in to identify the body and confirmed that the clothing matched what she was last seen wearing. The victim’s fingerprints have also been submitted for verification before the body can be released,” he said.

He added that a post-mortem conducted at 8 AM on July 29 (Tuesday) by forensic specialists at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang, found no signs of injury or struggle on the victim’s body.

“The full autopsy report is still pending lab results,” he said.
