Well, if you miss the nostalgic ways you used to celebrate your birthday and wish to revisit your childhood for a bit, you can do so this year (provided you like animals) because if you happen to be born in the month of December, Zoo Negara is going to give you a free ticket!

Who doesn’t love birthday treats?

So long as you’re a Malaysian citizen whose birthday falls between 1st and 31st December, you’ll be granted free entry to our national zoo, News Straits Times reported.

And if you happen to like pandas, you’ll be delighted to know that this free entry includes entrance to the Giant Panda Conservation Centre (GPCC) too!

Looks like the memo about this news that has been circulating on social media is true after all. Plus, Zoo Negara itself has confirmed this on their Facebook page through an announcement.

Meanwhile, Zoo Negara deputy president Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana explained the reason behind this promo. He said, “The promotion is to encourage more visitors to come to Zoo Negara especially during the school holidays.”

So, if you’ve got no plans during the year-end holiday, you can consider a trip to the zoo!

To redeem this ticket, all you have to do is present your MyKad or MyKid at the ticket counter. However, do note that the free ticket will only be valid on your actual birthday and not on any other day of the month.

Just in case you’re curious how much each ticket is worth, the usual charges according to their website are as below:

  • Adult: RM44
  • Children aged 3 to 12: RM16
  • Senior citizen aged 60 and above: RM21

So, if you’re a December baby and don’t have any solid plans this month, why not head over to the zoo for a change?
