Two women became the victim of a late-night robbery when they were doing their laundry at a 24-hour laundromat in Bandar Sri Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

A video of the incident that was shared on social media witnessed two masked men stepping out from behind the lady’s yellow Myvi and robbing the two ladies of their personal possessions.

Here is a video of the robbery taken from the laundromat’s CCTV.

According to Harian Metro, the victim, who worked as a graphic designer, was at the laundromat with her friend before they were approached by the two robbers.

The robbers did not only rob the two women, but also another man who was on the premise.

According to the Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din, several things were stolen by the suspects, namely six handphones, car keys, house keys, a yellow Myvi registration number WWN 9044 and RM200 in cash.

They reported that no one was hurt in the incident and mentions that the police are currently on the hunt for the two men.

“Further investigation is currently carried out under Section 395/397 of the penal code.”

Clearly not a positive sight for most of us who frequent 24-hour laundromats at night.

We urge members of the public to instead frequent busy laundromats or simply do their laundry in broad daylight to avoid incidences like this from happening in the future.
