Christmas is almost upon us, which means it’s that time of the year again when everyone travels to different states to celebrate the year-end holidays!
Earlier today (20th December), Anih Bhd, the concessionaire of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (KLK) and East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT 1) released a travel time advisory (TTA) for drivers intending on travelling to the East Coast this holiday season.
Be sure to take note of these recommended travelling times if you’re going outstation this holiday!
On top of that, Anih Bhd even announced that there will be a 10 per cent toll discount on Christmas! Yay!
Anih Bhd executive director Nik Fauzi Nik Hussein stated that the 10 per cent discount is applicable to all classes of vehicles and will take effect from 12 midnight to 11.59pm on Christmas Day (25th December).
“The initiative to provide toll discounts ahead of all major festivals in the country, introduced since 2011, is a sign of appreciation to all KLK and LPT 1 road users,” the Anih Bhd executive director stated, according to Free Malaysia Today.
Motorists travelling outstation have also been advised to check the balance on their Touch ‘n Go cards before setting out, since both the KLK and LPT 1 have fully implemented the electronic toll collection system and the reload services will be unavailable at toll booths to avoid congestion.
If you really do need to reload your card during your journey, Anih Bhd recommends doing so at these locations;
- Gombak Toll Plaza (Customer Service Centre)
- Bentong Toll Plaza (Customer Service Centre)
- Karak Toll Plaza (Customer Service Centre)
- Temerloh Toll Plaza (Customer Service Centre)
- Kuantan Toll Plaza (Customer Service Centre)
- Gambang Toll Plaza (Self-service)
- Gombak Stop (westbound) (Self-service)
- Genting Sempah Rest and Recreation Area (Self-service)
- Temerloh R&R (East and West directions) (Self-service)
