At 8am this morning (February 27), a group led by NGO, the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH), marched from Plaza Tugu Negara to the Parliamentary building to hand over a memorandum to the politicians in attendance for the 1st meeting of the 3rd term.
Participants were encouraged to join while wearing black or yellow, though the most important part was to ensure that the memorandum got handed over.
Taking to their Twitter page, Parti MUDA shared how Muar MP Syed Saddiq were among the politicians who received the memorandum, and gave the general public a glimpse of what it encompassed.
They wrote, “YB Syed Saddiq, Member of Parliament for Muar (MUDA) was present to receive the ‘Reformasi100Peratus (100% Reform)‘ memorandum this morning from BERSIH President, Faisal Aziz.”
“MUDA strongly supports BERSIH’s agenda.”
Here’s what was stated in the memorandum:
- A demand and implementation of 100% reformation as stated in PH’s manifesto.
- The rejection of the law of having 2 degrees, in regarding to former Prime Minister Najib Razak’s pardon.
- The Rule of Law (Kedaulatan Undang-Undang), rejection of DNAA for politicians involved in corruption.
“Alhamdulillah for the important actions by BERSIH at the sacred institution of the Parliamentary building as part of the reformation agenda.”
“BERSIH urges PM Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Madani government to provide a timeline for the implementation of the #Reformasi100Peratus agenda in the order of whichever takes priority,” added BERSIH President Faisal Aziz.
