Heads up, fellow Malaysians! It looks like the 14th general elections might just be around the corner!

Our beloved Prime Minister Najib Razak spoke at UMNO’s 71st anniversary celebrations in the Bukit Jalil Stadium yesterday (11th May).

During his speech, the Prime Minister asked members of the ruling party to be prepared for polls, strongly indicating that he may call for elections very soon, according to Channel NewsAsia.

Our dearest leader said,

“I want to ask you all, are we strong enough? Are we ready? Can we dissolve Parliament tomorrow?” the Prime Minister asked the crowd gathered at the stadium yesterday. His question was followed by cheers.

“That’s the spirit we want.”

Although elections were thought to be held next year in 2018, news that the GE14 will be held this year has circulated, with many initially speculating that it would happen around September.

According to the report, government sources told Reuters that Prime Minister Najib will most likely call polls in the third quarter of 2017, after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

In the previous election back in 2013, Barisan Nasional (BN) won marginally in a tight race against the opposition.

We hope all of you have already registered to vote, and if you haven’t already, register before it’s too late!
