As reported by the New Straits Times, Mohammad Haikal Mahfuz, a former postman, is facing murder charges for the death of Mila Sharmilah (Bella). Bella’s remains, in an incomplete skeletal state, were discovered in an abandoned rental house last Friday evening, following the accused’s visit to the location.
In a recent development, Twitter user @mynewshub shared a video and conversation screenshots discussing the circulating news.
The posted video captures the moment a woman can be heard shouting ‘murderer, murderer’ as Haikal is led out of the Magistrate Court following the murder charges.
Identified as the sister of the deceased, Norhisham Samsusah, she struggled to contain her emotions while leaving the court premises after the proceedings.
Meanwhile, Nor Azhar Jamil, Bella’s uncle, emphasized the family’s earnest desire for justice to be served. He stressed the importance of ensuring that Bella receives the rightful justice she deserves.
He extended heartfelt appreciation to all Malaysians who have consistently prayed for an investigation into Bella’s case since her disappearance.
Outraged netizens began pouring into the comment section to share their thoughts on what had happened to Bella.
“If I were the family, I’d be angry too. Imagine the killer was still on the loose even though we all knew and suspected him of murder, but the police failed to take action before it was too late. When it was reported, the police still didn’t take it seriously. 30 days after Bella’s body was found.”
“Is it wrong that she’s stating facts? He really is a killer. The police failed to take immediate action, so that makes them killers too. Don’t ever forget that. The police are responsible for the death of Bella too.”
“You shouldn’t have mercy on people who act like animals. Individuals like that shouldn’t be forgiven for what they’ve done. He was nowhere close to being a human being.”
“Police in Malaysia are so unreliable. They perform their jobs too slowly. I feel sorry for the sister who had to go back and forth trying to find her deceased sister. A month later, they only found her remains. Calling the man a murderer is justifiable. I hope he receives the death penalty.”
