On 15th May, the Thai government has announced that they will be gradually reopening the country to help lift the economy. Their lockdown curfew hours have been shortened by one hour and certain businesses were allowed to open.

Malls are allowed to open with strict SOPs to abide by and this mall in Bangkok stood out for their innovative approach.

Seacon Square Mall in Bangkok reopened on 17th May, in a Facebook post, they have shown all the measures they have/will be taking and netizens are lauding their effort.

The mall management says they have been sanitising every single surface in the mall and also pasting social distancing stickers everywhere. Other than that, they have been putting hand sanitisers at different places in the whole mall to make sure that everyone stays hygienic.

For their elevators, they have converted the touch buttons to leg pedals so that mall-goers will not have to use their hands and risk contracting the virus. This certain picture alone has been shared 4,100 times by Thai netizens!

The management has also explained that the leg pedals will be on the left side of the elevator and on the right side, there will still be buttons for those who are not able to use their legs. That is certainly very considerate of them!
