Disputes and miscommunication are expected in a business and should only lead to achieved common grounds, not blood.

A Taiwanese business based in Bangkok, Thailand, recently opted for murder as his last resort after hitting a dead end in a business dispute revolving around business rights in the company. What shocked the police was the man’s targeted person – his son.

Disputes all day, err day

Oriental Daily and Bangkok Post reported that it wasn’t the first miscommunication between the father and son. The disputes have been ongoing for years, and the pair have filed more than 20 lawsuits since to remove each other from the company’s leadership.

The man, Zhang, approached the company’s consultant, Prakaip, who used to be in the military, for help. Prakaip then reached out to Tavara, someone else he knew well, an acquaintance who hired a killer to kill Zhang’s son. Tavara has vast knowledge and experience with firearms.

All 3 men were arrested and charged with premeditated murder.

Zhang, who is 68 years old, runs a company with his son that was established in 1999, and the company focuses on exported electronic equipment.

Tavara was sentenced to life in prison for killing a police officer in 2006 and was just recently released.

Zhang’s son was not the only target of assassination but also his wife and lawyer. Thanks to the son’s alertness, he kept the family safe. He knew he was being followed, so he asked his mother to return to Taiwan and reported the matter to the police. The murder plot was then foiled, which led to the arrest.

At the time of writing, Zhang, Prakaip, and Tavara denied committing the crime, and investigations are ongoing.
