Animals are truly the purest and adorable creatures on the planet, especially when they are caught in awkward positions.

One baby elephant has been taking the internet by storm after it was caught eating sugarcane at a farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand, by two villagers.

As according to Break’n News, upon realising that it had been discovered, the adorable baby elephant decided to hide behind a lamp pole and remain completely still, thinking that the villagers would not be able to see it.

Wild elephants and farmers have been known to come into conflict, but thankfully, Thailand has recognised the need to protect the elephants after they were listed as endangered in 1986, reported Indians in Gulf.

Hence, the cheeky baby elephant should be safe from the villagers and farmers, but we do feel bad because the poor baby must have been so scared!

We genuinely hope that the villagers gave the baby elephant some sugarcanes for its journey back to its mother.
