A Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the by-election in Johor this week has gone viral for his interests on social media.
An X user shared a video that scrolls through the candidate’s Facebook page but what caught the netizens’ attention was the “Likes” section on his Facebook page.
The candidate follows multiple indecent Facebook pages that feature women in provocative poses and sexually suggestive content, with some images depicting full nudity.
It is also worth noting that during the campaigns for General Election 15, PN was accused of objectifying women by hiring “sexy” influencers to promote the party.
The video on X has caused chaos online, with many expressing their shock to see the candidate’s “interests.”
“These gangs have the same traits. I’m done with the rubbish politics of the Opposition. There’s not even one credible representative.”
Another netizen tagged the local news media and told them to interview the candidate after the election campaign.
“This is the criteria. If you want to join them, you have to like p***.”
“They are sexual maniacs. No wonder they are on board with GISBH.”
“It’s crazy that he’s liking and following the pages on social media. Are his kids, grandkids, and relatives not on his social media? They must have seen what he likes.”
At the time of writing (September 26), the candidate has yet to respond to the matter. His latest postings on Facebook, however, are flocked with netizens’ comments which highlight the matter.
“You might want to remove it”
“Uncle, as a Muslim like you, please unfollow the pages in your lists. I’m serious.”
“Why do you follow the ladies who barely have clothes on? Are you not embarrassed?”
At the time being, the candidate has unfollowed most of the indecent pages.
What do you think of this? Should the candidate address the matter, or does the public have no right to interfere?
